Spring is on its way, I can tell because the black snow is melting and daffodils are peeking through. So, that means it’s time to get out and try something new. How about appliqué? Joyce has a new adorable rabbit hand appliqué for beginners and Robin has two terrific nursery decorator projects done with machine appliqué. For those of you who have taken Start Quilting and would like to move on - check out the Advance Beginner class and the little, It’s a Hoot quilt one of my favorites! Janet has a new quilt, Plaid Passion, from a book called, Color Shuffle, the method is fun and creative - the quilt is terrific! And then, there's the second in the series Stash Stew. Start cutting your squares, “scraps and stash" the magic numbers are 2 7/8" and 6 7/8". Finally, if you missed the T-shirt class the winter, it’s back on Saturdays with Kathy.

I'm cutting into them this weekend! Looking for a cute, Easter gift for that quilter or non-quilter in your family? Check out the adorable book, PEEPS, interesting recipes and creative decorating ideas. I'd like to try the peepsicles!

The Garden Patch Quilt Show is coming soon to Wheaton Village on March 20 and 21. It should be a fun show, not far, beautiful location, small enough to take your husband, and maybe make a day of it. Check it out at www.wheatonarts.org. You can print off a coupon from this site.

Annual New Jersey Shop Hop
April 14, 15, 16, 17, & 18

Here’s how it works:
• Purchase a passport at any participating shop for $5.00.
• During the four day event, you visit each of the shops. Your passport will be stamped and you may enter the daily drawing at each store with the little entry forms inside your passport. – Prizes include a Bernina Ironing System, The Reliable Ironing Board, A beautiful basket filled with 284 fat quarters and an Accu-quilt Go Cutter System.
• Purchase a charm pack at each store to be used in any of the exclusive 2010 NJ shop hop quilts, a different one from each store. Collect all 11 pewter charms.
